PURPOSE
An exciting opportunity for a team player to join the Burnet's finance group and take responsibility for management of the financial systems for the Institute’s international programs for certain working groups.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Your key responsibility areas will include:
- In consultation with overseas offices, support and improve accounting systems
- Review monthly reporting from overseas offices
- Consolidate accounting information from overseas offices with the Melbourne database
- Work with Project Managers to meet donor financial reporting requirements
- Develop and implement effective financial reporting tools
- Provide monthly budget v actual reports for working groups
- Assist working group heads in reviewing financial reports
- Prepare projects for financial audits
- Perform monitoring visits of overseas offices
- Assist Project Managers/Working Group Heads with compiling budgets and forecasting
- Assist the Chief Financial Officer to fulfil responsibilities of the International Programs
CRITERIA
The successful applicant will have:
- Degree in commerce or accounting (or substantial industry experience)
- Relevant accounting experience
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Demonstrated experience in developing and/or improving accounting systems
- Demonstrated experience in working with international development programs
- Demonstrated experience in developing budgets
- Ability to build strong relationships with colleagues
- Ability to prioritise
Knowledge of SunSystems and/or Quickbooks is desirable. Membership of CPA/CA or preparedness to commence study towards membership would also be advantageous.
